Aida is one of my favorite shows and it was a pleasure to costume. I set the Nubian and Egyptian factions apart from each other through color and fabric. The Nubians wore rough textured, earthy tones that I lovingly labeled Afro Funk and the Egyptians wore sparkly, shiny fabrics in jewel tones with gold, purple, turquoise, white and black used predominantly.
