Milwaukee Youth Theatre (MYT) is the first theatre I worked for. I saw pictures of costumes from a production and decided they deserved better. I sent them an email the very next day and had a job by that evening. They have no money and a lot of heart. My budgets were minuscule. $200 to costume 30 kids was the norm.

I learned more from working with them than any other theatre company. I learned to think outside the box and look for different materials to accomplish my goals. This is where I developed a love of mask making and paper mache. MYT taught me about the versatility of cardboard and how to take apart three old costumes to make one new incredible one. Reduce, reuse, recycle was the name of the game.

I no longer work there but I do remain on their Board of Directors and I hope to return to work with them after I graduate. They are a company I believe very strongly in.
